Sound Dock Portable Aux port not working!

I have a Sound Dock 2 Portable that was given to me as a gift. The Aux port stopped working one day. I tried disconnecting the battery suggested by the support page and all other suggestions. How can I resolve this issue. I really love the sound from this speaker.

• Have you been able to try a different AUX cable at all?
• When you connect the battery or power cord, does the system beep at all?
