I recently bought Bose Soundbar 700. It works fine except the connection between the universal remote and my Sony TV. This afternoon, I suddenly noticed that a single red light remains lit. I understand it is the microphone on/off of Alexa. I have tried tap, tap & hold and even reset the soundbar. There is, however, no luck for me. The solid red light is still there. Can anyone give me a hand on it? I really need the voice control via Alexa. Millions of thanks in advance.
Hi Kr1s and Ewaern,
Thank you for the posts, and welcome to the community.
Have you connected your systems to Wi-Fi/Ethernet and gone through Alexa setup in the Bose Music app?
As well, make sure you're pressing the microphone button straight on with your finger, as its a touch sensitive button.
Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Brandon,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the soundbar is connected to my router by Wi-Fi and had gone through Alexa setup successfully. I have tried several times:
but no luck at all.
I'm experiencing the same problem. I can't speak to Alexa through my sound bar, therefore, I must use the remote to do anything with the sound bar. Unlike using my Alexa fire TV box that controls my TV and other smart devices. Thinking about returning my sound bar with sub, paid over $1000.00 for this system; expect it to work without the problems that I'm having.
Hello Nanelken,
Thanks for the post and welcome to the community.
This is not normal behavior of the Soundbar 700; we would suggest to exchange it for another one.
