Party Mode - Do mics transmit to the 2nd S1?

I use the bluetooth option to play music into the S1.  I also have a mic plugged into the S1.

If I go into "party mode" on the app and get another S1, will the "microphone" plugged into the first S1 transmit to the 2nd S1 as well?

I essentially want to plug a mic into an S1 and have the sound from that mic coming out of the S1 "and" another S1 that is farther away.  I don't want to simply put two S1's on one stand and daisy chain them with a cable.  I need much wider coverage.

@djharryg , only if your microphone is interfaced to your mobile device via something like iRig:

Re: Party Mode - Do mics transmit to the 2nd S1?

Yes, you can by using a wireless mic transmitter/receiver.  Plug the receiver into the slave in either channel 1 or 2 and the transmitter into the master output.  You will need a 1/4" male TRS adapter to XLR male.  I use the NUX system and the Livewire SSTX TRS adapter.  There are also other systems that will work but this is what I'm using.

The xvive u3 will allow one transmitter to send to two receivers simultaneously. You would need two buy two sets though as I don’t think you can buy xvive receivers separately.

Party Mode - Do mics transmit to the 2nd S1?

Great question:  I'm sorry - the answer is "no".

The Bose Connect app controls only the Bluetooth signal sent from the device running the app to one or two S1 Pro systems. It does not interact with the input sources physically connected to the S1 Pro systems.

I essentially want to plug a mic into an S1 and have the sound from that mic coming out of the S1 "and" another S1 that is farther away.  I don't want to simply put two S1's on one stand and daisy chain them with a cable.  I need much wider coverage.

You're right, putting two S1 Pro systems on a single stand won't make much difference in sound coverage except when you have a very wide coverage area and you don't need more depth than you would get with one S1 Pro. Also, using two S1 Pro systems side-by-side will lower your  gain-before-feedback with microphones.

Please see this article: S1 Pro Daisy Chain

This shows you how to connect two S1 Pro systems using a cable. Note the recommended settings on the second S1 Pro. You can also try one of the wireless connection options in place of the cable.

Nope. Doesn't work that way.

I believe you need a headphone connector for iRig, correct?

Yes, @djharryg , it plugs into a 1/8" TRRS headphone jack.

Re: Party Mode - Do mics transmit to the 2nd S1?

Hi, djharryg,

I wouldn't use Bluetooth for a wireless connection for a microphone. There will be too much latency (time between when you sing/talk) and when the comes out of the S1 Pro systems.

The best you can expect from Low Latency Bluetooth* is about 40 milliseconds. 40 milliseconds is intolerably long for live music performance  (See link below).

The Effects of Latency on Live Sound Monitoring

* note: The S1 Pro doesn't support Low Latency Bluetooth, so the latency is higher.
