iPod Suddenly won’t work

Hello everyone, I’ve been using my iPod on my docking station for years, now all of the sudden today  it won’t play through the speaker, the only sound is coming out of the iPod itself. Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks for joining the community!  Sorry to hear about the troubles, but would be happy to help!

• Have you tried rebooting the Sound Dock by removing power for 30 seconds?  If it's the portable one, please remove the battery as well.
• Also, rebooting the iPod itself may help as well.
• Do you happen to notice if the iPod charges at all while on the Sound Dock?
